The Sales Development Representative (SDR) helps generate sales for EVERFI by effectively and efficiently researching, engaging and connecting potential customers to the sales team to drive “top of the sales funnel” activity and help generate pipeline. In addition to prospecting sales opportunities in the market, the SDR also serves as the connection between Demand Generation Marketing & Sales by planning and executing campaigns to engage target personas and accounts. The SDR schedules and helps lead a high volume of qualified Initial Sales Meetings each month and assist Account Executives and Account Managers with surfacing new logo and upsell (account growth) opportunities, and ultimately to revenue, for EVERFI. For strong performers, we have a rigorous upskilling and development program to prepare SDRs for next commercial roles supporting larger deals, or running their own quota-bearing roles as Account Executives or Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Contact by phone or email a high volume of inbound and prospected leads per day to initiate conversation with prospects, present the value of EVERFI’s products and solutions, and qualify prospects to move on to an introductory demonstration of the platform or a discovery call with an Account Executive
  • Respond to potential customer inquiries generated through advertisements and events
  • Conduct web research to engage market prospects that fit the ideal customer profile based on targeted market and to identify relevant internal company contacts for outreach
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends within the relevant target industry, education technology, and EVERFI’s platform and courses to adapt messaging to prospects' needs and areas of interests
  • Identify prospects’ business needs and confirm EVERFI’s ability to address them using digital learning solutions
  • Work closely with Demand Generation team to take Marketing Qualified Leads and engage to convert warm leads to discovery calls
  • Create personalized email campaigns and enhance existing campaigns to engage with prospects and generate demand for EVERFI’s products and solutions based on the organization’s business priorities
  • Utilize sales tools, including but not limited to Linkedin Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Groove, Salesforce and Gong to research contacts and engage with market prospects
  • Record and maintain outreach records in Salesforce system up-to-date contact information and notes for prospects contacted and territory
  • Track and report on individual progress to monthly and quarterly goals for initial sales meetings and pipeline sourced
  • Communicate timely and accurately with the Account Executive team to provide updates on weekly outreach activity, successes, and additional areas and prospects to target
  • Additional professional development opportunities including shadowing, training and certification of key activities and skills across the sales process (discovery, demos, relationship engagement calls) to prepare strong performers for next commercial steps as Account Execs or Account Managers
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or relevant work experience in sales development, fundraising, or events management
  • Work experience or excitement about conducting a high volume of outbound phone & email activity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Goal & growth mindset with the ability to seek out and apply coaching feedback regarding sales skills
  • Working experience with SalesForce or other CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and some sales engagement tools preferred
