This role operates as part of Delivery Station Leadership while supporting the initiatives of the Integrated Last Mile Driver Academy (iLMDA) program. This role is vital in driving and supporting concentrated driver training for a various delivery stations.
The iLMDA program offers an immersive training experience for Delivery Associates. The program leverages various platforms, including Virtual Reality, Driving Simulators, and Slip-Trip-Fall simulation, to provide a multifaceted approach to driver training
It incorporates practical, hands-on training, including a real-world on-road driving experience, providing for a comprehensive experience for delivery associates.
As Delivery Training Area Manager, your core responsibilities would include establishing and maintaining the right driver training culture in your delivery station, including managing a team of hourly Delivery Trainer associates, ensuring their deployment, development, and productivity meets the needs of internal customers. You will act as a proactive and productive liaison, working closely with Delivery Service Partners and other stakeholders to make a positive impact on critical business metrics, such as safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities and Job Elements:
Manage driver training to established benchmark standards including safety, quality, productivity, ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and procedures.
Manage and provide leadership and direction to a team of 6-10 Delivery Trainers (DTs), offering mentorship, coaching, and support to support career development and optimize their performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including Delivery Service Partners (DSP), On Road Staffing (ORS), and Business Coaches (BC), to foster partnerships and align training initiatives with organizational goals.
Enhance station oversight of driver training activities, including monitoring and evaluating performance metrics such as the DSP Scorecard, Training Capacity, Pipeline Management, and OTR Quality Metrics.
Drive continuous improvement in driver training processes and programs by auditing training and implementing actions using available data and tools to analyze and construct strategic plans which to drive best practices and improve performance.
Work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather (driver training includes outdoor activities).
Lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, and/or holidays
Up to 75% travel; Travel to multiple sites from your hub station.
A day in the life
The DTAM is the single-threaded owner of training execution within the iLMDA hub, responsible for more than just coordination-they own throughput, training quality, classroom space readiness, and issue escalation tied directly to performance and safety.
This role operates at the intersection of Operations, Learning, and Programmatic leadership, and is designed to function as a strategic lever within the station
The DTAM manages Delivery Trainers and partners with PIE, DSPs, OTR, DDWS, BCs, and various other stakeholder teams to ensure outcomes are consistent, data-driven, and aligned with broader performance and business goals.

About the team
The Last Mile Delivery Academy (LMDA) in 2022 at DDE6 in Denver, CO, as a standalone driver training facility supporting five delivery station's Delivery training in the Denver region. In 2024, DT&P began to launch iLMDA to consolidate delivery training within one "hub" delivery station.
The program employs a range of training modalities, such as Virtual Reality and Slip-Trip-Fall simulation, to offer a multifaceted approach to driver training. It involves a practical, hands-on training methodology, which includes a real-world on-road driving experience, ensuring a well-rounded training program.
