Position Overview

Goose Global Media LLC is seeking a licensed Ohio CPA or tax professional to join our network of independent contractors on an as-needed basis. This role supports our bookkeeping and accounting clients through consulting, financial audits, and tax return preparation. Work is project-based and seasonal, with the heaviest demand occurring during tax season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local (including RITA municipal/school district, where applicable) tax returns for individual and small business clients during tax season.
  • Provide ad hoc tax consulting to clients and internal staff on an as-needed basis throughout the year.
  • Conduct financial audits and reviews for bookkeeping clients as requested.
  • Advise on tax planning strategies, entity structuring, and compliance matters for small business clients.
  • Review bookkeeping records for accuracy and tax readiness prior to filing.
  • Communicate directly with clients as needed to gather documentation and clarify filing details.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable IRS and Ohio Department of Taxation regulations and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license in the State of Ohio (required).
  • Demonstrated experience preparing individual and small business tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of Ohio and local (RITA) municipal tax requirements.
  • Prior experience with audits or financial statement review preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable working remotely and coordinating around a flexible, as-needed schedule.
  • Familiarity with small business and bookkeeping client environments a plus.

Engagement Details

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position -- not an employee role. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
  • Work volume varies by season; expect increased hours during tax season (typically January-April) and lighter, ad hoc consulting/audit work throughout the rest of the year.
  • The contractor sets their own hours and works remotely; occasional deadline-driven availability may be needed to meet filing dates.
  • Pay rate of $45-75/hour will be determined based on experience, credentials, and scope of engagement.

Interested candidates should submit a resume, proof of active Ohio CPA licensure, and a brief summary of relevant tax preparation and audit experience to Willow Estock- willowe@gooseglobalmedia.com
