People Culture Manager - Scaling SaaS Organisation (Remote-first) - Belfast (1 day per week)

MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a fast-growing SaaS organisation operating across the UK, with offices in GB and Belfast, as they look to appoint an experienced People Culture Manager on a full-time permanent basis. With a growing team of 100 employees and ambitious expansion plans, this is a unique opportunity for a strategic and hands-on HR leader to take ownership of the entire people function, driving engagement, development, and organisational effectiveness across a remote-first workforce.

The role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the successful People Culture Manager will act as a trusted advisor across the business, ensuring the people strategy aligns closely with company growth plans and long-term objectives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping and modernising the HR function, balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

People development and retention will sit at the heart of this role, with responsibility for designing and implementing a company-wide learning and development framework, including career pathways, skills mapping, structured progression, and leadership development initiatives. The People Culture Manager will also lead on performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and retention strategies to ensure employees feel supported, motivated, and empowered to grow their careers within the organisation.

The role will also focus heavily on HR process improvement and systems optimisation. The successful candidate will audit and redesign HR processes across onboarding, performance management, and offboarding, while taking ownership of the HRIS platform to ensure strong reporting capability, data integrity, and manager self-service functionality.

Working closely with senior leadership, the People Culture Manager will support workforce planning, organisational design, compensation benchmarking, and succession planning, helping the business scale effectively while maintaining a strong and inclusive company culture.

This role requires a commercially minded and credible HR leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment and who enjoys building modern people practices that genuinely add value to both employees and the wider business.

The successful candidate

To apply for this outstanding People Culture opportunity, it is essential you possess the following:

  • 5 years' experience within a senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or People leadership role, with at least 2 years experience at HR Manager level
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering learning and development programmes with measurable outcomes
  • Experience supporting remote-first or distributed teams
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Demonstrable experience improving or transforming HR systems and processes
  • Experience working within a scaling or high-growth business environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercially aware, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities
  • Strong employee relations experience combined with sound judgement and discretion

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on experience using PeopleHR or a similar HRIS platform
  • Familiarity with similar goal-setting frameworks
  • Experience developing compensation benchmarking frameworks
  • Previous experience building or scaling HR functions within a growing business
